What are some good steps to take after a crash?

After a car accident in Ontario, you need to know what to do. This is a chaotic and confusing time, so knowing what steps to take in advance can really help, allowing you to take proper action when you don't have time to sit down and think it all out. The following seven steps can help.

Teen driver involved in fatal wreck

The Ontario Provincial Police announced on June 29 that a 16-year-old girl had been handed several criminal charges for causing a fatal car accident on June 17. The girl received two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm and two counts of dangerous driving causing death. When underage drivers cause car accidents, the Youth Criminal Justice Act prohibits their identities from being revealed.

Loss recovery for dependents of fatal accident victims

Immediate relatives have the right to file legal claims to recover losses when driver negligence causes the injury or death of a loved one. The Family Law Act of Ontario permits spouses, children, siblings, parents, grandparents and grandchildren to take legal action for compensation.
